The best portable scrabble game I’ve come across! The game board itself folds in half, has its own zippered nylon case, snap-in letter tiles AND snap-in letter tile RACK. Playing a game of scrabble and not having the tile pieces going all over the place is a small feeling of victory, even though you just lost that last match.

This set comes in a zippered case (the “folio,” I assume) with tile racks, plastic letter tiles in a small drawstring bag, folding game board, score sheet notepad, pencil, and basic directions, which include the essential two-letter word list. The board is made of clear plastic with a raised grid (like 3D graph paper) into which you snap the letter tiles. As you would expect, the board is laid out exactly the same as standard Scrabble; it also has the same quantity and variety of letter tiles. The board is attached to the folio along the spine, so it doesn’t pivot; but it’s easy enough to rotate or pass around the folio so that each player can have their round. I am waiting to take it out on a vacation … I have just received this item (from Peregrine).It reached me one day prior to the estimated delivery date, and I am satisfied with the shipping part, though I wasn’t happy that I had to pay for it independently.It is light weight and portable, a little lesser in width to my 10′ netbook. However, I am overall happy with the design and ease of this product. If one is not carrying too much stuff in the carry on,one can take this along.I felt that the tiles could be held a little more tightly in the “snap space” of the board, however, that does not mean they are loose. They do not fall down when turned upside down. The tiny tile racks have a lid on them to securely hold the tiles already placed in them and can be carried with the portable board bag.
