My new EDC! I have to say, I love this new ferro rod!When I opened it and held this in my hands for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised on how beefy the aluminum striker actually was. I was expecting it to be thinner and cheaper really but it’s quite substantial for how compact it is. The knurling is nice, and I have to say the thing I didn’t hear or see anything about was what actually scraping the ferro rod. There is no mention of this and I feel it’s just as important.On the backside of the black knurled striker housing, there is in fact a nice hearty slab of Tungsten Carbide! It even has a serial number on it…so it’s legit, lol.Anyways, both halves are substantial enough to get a decent grip on and shred shaving of ferrocerium all over the tinder of your choice, while maintaining it’s compact size and shape. The 550 cord threaded through the handle is good for those who may like a bit of extra leverage in actually holding it steady while in use…
